Access to Our Journal: Electronic News

As one of your membership benefits of AEJMC, you can access the online content of Electronic News on SAGE Journals Online.
Instructions for setting up your online account access to Electronic News are below. Once activated, you will be able to view and search issues back to Volume 1, Issue 1.
1.    Go to the SAGE Journals Online Subscription Activation page at https://online.sagepub.com/cgi/activate/basic.
2.    You will be prompted to enter your Customer/Member Number in the field provided (your Customer/Member Number is 1234567). Then Select “AEJMC” from the drop-down menu list.
3.    Click “Submit” and follow the prompts on the screen. On the “Instructions” page, check your personal data and enter a username and password (be sure to write down your selections so you can access your journal in the future). Click “Submit” to confirm the activation.
4.    Once complete, return to the journal’s homepage at http://enx.sagepub.com/ and start accessing content.
5.    Please note:
a.    If you forget your username or password, go to http://online.sagepub.com/cgi/recnamepwd. You will be asked to enter either your Username or your Customer/Member Number. Upon confirmation of the information, the username or password will be emailed to you. If you require further technical assistance, please click on the “Contact Us” link located on every page.
Once your account is set up, be sure to also register for free Electronic News email alerts so you can stay up-to-date as each new issue becomes available online.

Call for Papers: Special Edition of Electronic News for t
he 2012 Elections

GOP Elephant and Democrat DonkeyAre you conducting research on the 2012 Elections, or do you have a project in mind for the months ahead? Does your work have clear relevance to the news industries?
If so, the Electronic News Division encourages you to submit your work to a special edition of our journal!

Next Spring, editors of Electronic News will accept submissions for a peer-­reviewed,
invited paper session at the 2013 AEJMC convention in Washington D.C. Papers can
address broadcast, digital, social and multimedia coverage of a variety of topics using a
broad spectrum of methodologies. Opinion pieces and essays, however, will not be
considered, nor will research presented or published elsewhere.

Because of EN’s mission to highlight scholarship pertaining to the academy and industry it is expected that the paper will in some way address news media use, production processes and/or audience-­related research. Possible topics
include, but are not limited to:
• Minorities & Media Use during the 2012 Campaign
• News Audiences & Negative Campaign Coverage
• Multi-­Platform Content Production in Modern Elections

Deadline for Submissions:
February 15, 2013
Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection by June 1st. Paper author
(or co-­authors) are expected to present at the convention. Accepted papers
will be published in a planned special edition of Electronic News, likely
December 2013

Call for Manuscripts: Electronic News
The Journal of the Electronic News Division of AEJMC

Electronic NewsElectronic News is a quarterly journal published by Sage devoted to advancing knowledge and understanding of news as disseminated through electronic media platforms. The journal invites submissions of original research that examine the content, practice, and administration of radio, television, the internet, and related areas.

Submissions must be clearly applicable to the practice of electronic journalism and must be written for an audience that includes both academicians and practitioners.

Submitted work is evaluated according to the quality of its conceptualization, research execution, and the lasting contribution it will make to electronic news studies.
