[AEJMC Newspaper Division list] About that Journalism Resource Question post...

Greetings, O end-of-semester sprinters:

Earlier today I allowed the message from Pamela Parker asking that a message about her topjournalismschools blog be posted to the Newspaper and Online Division's listserv.

My gatekeeping standard was: "Would I want to know someone was writing this about me and my school?" I figured you would want to know about someone using her First Amendment freedoms while mentioning your school's program.

I think my decision was right, because there have been multiple replies that are critical of the site. If you believe my decision to let it through was wrong, then pardon me and call it a case of "neutral reportage" on the listserv.

Because she's not a member, you can direct replies to her at <pamela at topjournalismschools.org>, and I'll forward replies that she may not receive.

Meanwhile, keep a good thought as Vice Chair Jin Yang and I go this weekend to Louisville, Ky., where we take part in planning the programming for AJEMC 2012 in Chicago. We'll report back once the chip auction's dust has settled.

Chris
