[AEJMC Newspaper Division list] Judges Needed--Teaching Ideas Competition

The Newspaper Division of AEJMC is looking for judges for its teaching ideas competition, Teaching News Terrifically in the 21st Century. If you teach newswriting, reporting or editing and you are NOT entering the competition, you are eligible to volunteer.

Judges are accepted from among each of the three categories of instructors who can enter the competition: full-time faculty, adjunct instructors and graduate students who have taught newswriting, reporting or editing. You do not have to be a member of AEJMC or the Newspaper Division.

The deadline for TNT21 entries is 11:59 p.m. EDT May 21, and entries should be available to judges by June 4. Judges will then have until June 21 to return their evaluations. Last year, there were enough judge volunteers that we were able to limit the load for each judge to three teaching ideas and still have each idea evaluated by multiple judges. 

If you are interested in judging, please send an e-mail to Susan Keith at susank at rutgers.edu with the following information:

-- What newswriting, reporting or editing courses you have taught
-- What professional journalism experience, if any, you have

If you are not sure whether you are entering the competition but would be willing to judge if you don't, please go ahead and provide your information. Susan is happy to remove you from the list of potential judges if you do submit an entry.
