[AEJMC Newspaper Division list] New name for Newspaper Division?

The great international newspaper design organization, now Society of News
Design (SND) started out as The Society for News Designers 25 years ago. In
keeping with its mission, founders¹ ideas and the currency of the
organization, the name was changed twice to the Society of Newspaper
Designers and now to Society of News Design.

I think the name aptly reflects all that is good and inclusive. I suggest
that we stick with the fundamental grounding that keeps us together, and
modernize the name to News Research Division. As newspapers increasingly
have adopted a convergence model, it is important that some academic
organization focus on the gathering, reading, distribution and consequences
of news.
