Book of interest: Health Communication in Southern Africa by Luuk Lagerwerf, Henk Boer, Herman Wasserman
Does healthy behaviour have the same predictors whether Zambian or Namibian individuals are concerned? How do social networks in small villages play a role in communicating health information? Do South African mass m...edia affect diverse audiences the same way as mass media do in Western society? Is the design of patient information adequate to help and instruct people who speak Xhosa as their first language? This book presents studies on health communication, in particular HIV/AIDS communication, in southern Africa, from a variety of scientific perspectives. Check out the book announcement (.pdf)

Check out the New Journal Cover for the Division!
Holiday greetings to all! Yes, you have spoken and we heard you loud and clear. The cover design poll that closed Dec. 11 shows that an overwhelming majority of you (or 60 percent of respondents) chose ICRJ cover design B (see above). Here’s the final tally (first choice): Cover Design A = 6 , Cover Design B = 30, Cover Design C = 14. Thanks to the 50 members that voted and sent us their comments. I couldn’t have done what we have so far without the help of Dr. Edna Bautista, who came up with the design ideas and provided the sample covers; Liz Schrader, our editorial assistant.
