The International Communication division is one of 17 divisions, 10 special interest groups and 2 commissions of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). The International Communication division focuses on the study of processes and effects of mass communication in the international arena. It also publishes The International Communication Bulletin.

AEJMC 2010: Call for Panel Proposals from International Communication Division - Deadline October 16
This is a call for panel proposals for the 2010 AEJMC Convention to be held in Denver from Aug. 4-7. Proposals are due on Friday, Oct. 16, and should be e-mailed to me at aschmitz@mail.sdsu.edu. Panels should address some aspect of international communication to be considered by the ICD. We are particularly interested in panels that would have a wide appeal. Proposals should fall into one of the following three categories: research, teaching, or professional freedom & responsibility. If you have a panel proposal idea, please see the CFP for details (.doc) and complete proposal form (.doc) and email it back to aschmitz@mail.sdsu.edu by October 16.


Judges Needed for WJEC 2010
The second World Journalism Education Congress will be held at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa, July 5-7, 2010. The Congress will run in conjunction with the 14th Highway Africa conference and will coincide with the 2010 Soccer World Cup hosted in South Africa. It follows the successful first congress held in Singapore in June 2007. (For details see http://wjec.ou.edu/congress.html or http://www.ru.ac.za/jms) With the support of journalism education organizations worldwide, the Congress is designed to provide a discussion forum on common issues and interests and a foundation for supporting the continuing development of journalism and journalism education worldwide. If you can serve as a judge, please complete the judge form (.doc) and save your changes. Then e-mail the completed form to elanie@ou.edu. (Please note, however, that paper submitters cannot also be paper judges.)
