San Francisco Summons Us - Message from Ginger Carter

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to visit San Francisco for the 2006 AEJMC convention. Not only is it a beautiful city for tourism (with fabulous cool temps in August!) San Francisco is a great media and entertainment city, too. This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to continue to program innovative sessions on entertainment and the media.

Your vice head Ron Leone, as well as teaching standards chair Kim Voss and PF&R chair John Chapin, need your input with ideas. So please, suggest! And don’t be intimidated by the process.

For instance, a lot of people asked me how we got to have our session “Remembering the Alamo” AT the Alamo on a Friday afternoon. Simple: I asked. I had to persevere, working through a couple of administrators, but once I got in touch with Bruce Winders, the rest, as they say, was entertainment history. They provided all the facilities, plus the A/V equipment, for no charge. That could happen in San Francisco, too. If you don’t ask, you won’t know.
